The celebration of Children's Day comes from Turkey. The children's holiday was first held in Hungary in 1931, although it was called Children's Week, it lasted for a whole week.
In 1954, the United Nations General Assembly proposed Universal Children’s Day, which aims to commemorate the brotherhood of the world’s children, mutual understanding, and a relentless struggle for the well-being of children. It was then that governments were also suggested to set the most appropriate date for their country to greet the little ones!
Children's Day is celebrated in Hungary on the last Sunday in May.
