11 January 1946 - 2nd Republic of Albania. From 1944 to 1946, the state of Albania was known as the Democratic Government of Albania and from 1946 until 1976 when it was renamed as the People's Republic of Albania.
Albania is one of the European countries with a long history of growing grapes. Vines were grown in the country as early as the ice age, and the oldest seeds found in Albania are between 4,000 and 6,000 years of age. The second largest deposits of oil in the Balkans region are found in Albania.
