World Poultry Day, celebrated annually on May 10, is recognized by the International Poultry Council (IPC), which has 31 country members. Countries worldwide participate to acknowledge poultry's role in food security, economic growth, and sustainability. The event was first celebrated in Hungary in 2012, and other countries have since joined in the observance.
International participation: The IPC has 31 country members, and various other countries have joined in the celebration since its inception.
Key objectives:
To raise awareness about the importance of poultry in food security and economic development.
To honor the people who work in the poultry sector, from farmers and breeders to processors and veterinarians.
To promote sustainable and innovative practices within the industry.
