The Whitsun market in Geilenkirchen is a traditional folk festival that has been celebrated for over 550 years. It originally began with jugglers and market criers on the market square and has developed into a large fair that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Highlights and special features:
Attractions: The market offers numerous rides such as bumper cars, break-dancing and carousels, which are suitable for both children and adults.
Krammarkt: Parallel to the funfair, a Krammarkt takes place in the Wurmauenpark with around 50 traders offering arts and crafts, jewelry, floristry and much more.
Family day: On the last day of the market, there are reduced prices for rides and special offers at the stalls.
Fireworks: The market traditionally ends with a large fireworks display, which is a highlight for visitors.
The festival takes place every year from the Friday before Whitsun to the Tuesday after Whitsun and is a popular meeting place for families and friends. Sounds like a great experience, doesn't it?
