The Frühjahrsbend in Aachen, affectionately known as Öcher Bend, is a traditional folk festival with deep roots dating back to the Middle Ages. Originally intended as a market for traders and their wares, the festival has developed over the centuries into a lively fair that takes place twice a year - in spring and summer.
Nowadays, the Öcher Bend attracts visitors of all ages with an impressive selection of rides, from adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters to nostalgic carousels. But the Bend is much more than just a fairground.
Culinary variety and enjoyment: Visitors can embark on a culinary journey of discovery: From hearty German classics to sweet temptations and international specialties - there is something for every taste.
A highlight for the senses: The fireworks: A special highlight of the Spring Bend is the spectacular fireworks display, which lights up the night sky over Aachen in brilliant colors and exerts a great attraction on visitors.
Inclusivity and accessibility: Öcher Bend attaches great importance to being a festival for everyone. With barrier-free access, toilets and wide paths, it ensures that people with limited mobility can also enjoy the festival without restrictions.
The Spring Evening is not just an event, but an experience that attracts both locals and tourists. Its lively atmosphere, the variety on offer and the successful mix of tradition and modernity make it a firm fixture in many people's calendars.
