The Old Town Festival in Cologne has a long tradition and dates back to 1973. It was originally held on Alter Markt, but was moved to Heumarkt in 1986. Since then, it has been one of the most popular festivals in Cologne and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from the region and beyond every year.
