The Michaelismesse Miltenberg is the largest folk festival on the Bavarian Lower Main. It takes place annually from the last weekend in August to the first Sunday in September and is considered the largest folk festival on the Bavarian Lower Main. At the Michaelismesse, there are numerous rides and traders who invite you to celebrate, stroll and be amazed.
On the first Saturday of the Michaelmas Fair, there is a colorful parade through Miltenberg's old town. On the last Saturday of the Michaelmas Fair, there is a spectacular firework display over the River Main.
The Michaelmas Fair in Miltenberg is a traditional folk festival with over 600 years of history. The Michaelismesse was first mentioned in a document in 1376. At that time, it was still a market where livestock, food and handicraft products were traded. Over the centuries, it developed into a folk festival that attracts visitors from all over the region.
