The Bad Vilbel Market is the largest folk festival in the Wetterau region of Hesse. It takes place on the fairground in Bad Vilbel and lasts nine days. The market begins every year on the Saturday before the 3rd Sunday in August. There is entertainment on seven days, while the market is closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Bad Vilbel market is not only the most important and oldest folk festival in the southern Wetterau region, but also one of the most traditional markets. The people of Vilbel know how to celebrate and look forward to the many visitors from near and far every year.
This year, when the market flag is raised again at the usual time on the Saturday before the third Sunday in August, young and old in the town can look forward to a wonderful festival that once again has a lot to offer everyone. The Bad Vilbel market is officially opened with a parade and the tapping of the barrel by the mayor in the marquee. The district animal show with horses, cattle, sheep and goats takes place again on the Tuesday of the market. The participation of the small animal breeding association is sure to be an attraction in the accompanying program.
