The Kawa Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Schwieberdingen, Germany. There is also another festival called the Kaw River Roots Festival, which takes place in the USA.
The first Kawa-Fest took place at Whitsun 1980. There was bottled beer, red sausage and a small tent. The festival was a success, and more were to follow.
How it all began: In 1977, the Kawasaki Z1000 was launched on the market. Four young men in Schwieberdingen wanted to buy a motorcycle and decided on the "KAWASAKI Z1000 A1". In 1979, the "FANTASTIC FOUR" joined the existing 12 members of the KAWA-TEAM in the neighboring town of Hemmingen.
After negotiations, the club changed its name from KAWA-TEAM to KAWA-CLUB to allow non-Hemmingen residents and other motorcycle brands to join. The Kawa community grew to 24 motorcycles by the end of the summer of '79. The KAWA-CLUB Schwieberdingen has become a registered association. The members still ride motorcycles and attach great importance to socializing and biker parties.
The KAWA-CLUB has evolved and is also open to Harleys, Hondas and Triumphs.
The annual KAWA-FEST attracts more and more enthusiastic fans. There is live music and food and drink for the bikers who attend.
