The Stadtwerke Eisfestival in Kiel is an annual event that takes place from November to January and offers visitors eight weeks of ice skating fun on a 1,400 m² covered ice rink.
The Stadtwerke Eisfestival has been taking place since 2010 and has become a popular event in Kiel. The festival originally took place on Rathausplatz, but was moved to Ostseekai in 2018.
Highlights of the festival:
Ice skating: The main attraction of the festival is of course the ice rink, where visitors of all ages and abilities can show off their skills on the ice.
Curling: For those looking for a little more action, there is the opportunity to compete against each other in curling.
Ice hockey: Regular ice hockey matches take place on the ice rink, where visitors can cheer on the local teams.
Events and functions: Various events and functions take place during the festival, such as live music, DJ performances, shows and children's programs.
Catering: Visitors can enjoy hot and cold drinks and tasty snacks at various stands.
The festival is barrier-free. Ice skates can be hired on site. Groups and school classes can take advantage of special conditions.
