Ostermünde is a joyful Easter festival that takes place every year in the seaside resort of Travemünde on the Baltic Sea.
Date: Ostermünde extends over the long Easter weekend.
The Easter bonfire is an atmospheric highlight of Ostermünde. It is lit directly on the beach, near the Brügmanngarten. Hundreds of people gather to experience this exciting ritual at nightfall. Live music and good humor accompany the fire. Hot and cold drinks and tasty barbecue snacks create a cozy atmosphere on the beach.
Giant egg parade: weeks before Easter, Travemünde is buzzing with excitement.
Hotels, beach chair rental companies, restaurants and clubs prepare for the annual giant Easter egg parade.
Together with neighbors, children and vacation guests, they paint huge, approximately two-meter-high eggs. The more colorful and creative, the better! On Easter Sunday, the godparents parade through Travemünde with their painted eggs in a long parade.
The parade is led by the Easter Bunny himself, accompanied by a brass band. The eggs are strung like pearls on a pearl necklace in the Brügmanngarten and can be admired until Easter Monday. The Easter Bunny visits the Brügmanngarten and creates fun painting activities with the children. There are exciting Easter stories, sack races and egg runs.
Musical performances round off the offer.
