The Gutenberg Marathon was a marathon in Mainz that was held annually on the second Sunday in May from 2000. From 2024, the running events will be held as a half marathon under the name Gutenberg Halbmarathon Mainz.
The race was launched by the City of Mainz's public relations department to mark the 600th anniversary of Johannes Gutenberg's birth. From 2001, the organization was handed over to the sports department.
The atmosphere along the route is fueled by our wide range of route festivities, so that you can complete the route through Mainz in a traveling atmosphere. Whether it's hits, samba, rock music, oldies, country, popular songs to sing along to or motivation from presenters - there's something for everyone!
