Day of Cyber Specialists of the Security Service of Ukraine

The SBU Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Field of Information Security (SBU DCIP) is a unit of the Security Service of Ukraine that works in the field of information security. The Department was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine of January 25, 2012, No. 34/2012.

The Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Field of Information Security of the Security Service of Ukraine is responsible for the state of state security in the cyber and information spheres, coordinates and controls the activities of regional bodies and units of the Central Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine. Within its competence, it submits proposals to the President of Ukraine on the issuance of acts binding on public administration bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations and citizens.

According to Ukrainian legislation, the term "information security" is defined as follows: "the state of protection of vital interests of a person, society and the state, which prevents damage due to: incompleteness, untimely and unreliable information used; negative information influence; negative consequences of the use of information technology; unauthorized dissemination, use, violation of the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information."
