On this date the Radio Club Venezolano was founded. Venezuela celebrates since 1934 every January 30 as the Amateur Radio Day, to celebrate the founding of the Radio Club Venezolano (RCV).
In that year a group of experimenters gathered in the halls of the Ateneo de Caracas decided to join efforts to create an organization that groups, trains and represents the country's radio amateurs, thus the RCV was born.
From its beginnings, the RCV's objective was to bring together radio amateurs representative of the various sectors of national life without distinction of race or social stratum, political creed or religion, to investigate the progress of the technique. In this way, they could help the people and the nation in times of distress.
