Fulgentius of Cartagena or Fulgentius of Astigi (Cartagena, 6th century - 630) was a Hispanic Christian nobleman and priest of the 6th century.
Fulgentius became bishop of Astigi or Ecija on two occasions, and also of the diocese of Cartagena, his hometown. He is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church (as other of his brothers, so he is also called one of the Four Saints of Cartagena) and his liturgical feast is celebrated on January 16.
Fulgencio is patron of the diocese of Cartagena and, since the sixteenth century, also gives his name to the Major Seminary of Murcia. He is also patron of the city of Plasencia and its diocese. He was considered a wise man, being elevated to the rank of doctor of the Church in 1880 by Leo XIII. The feast of St. Fulgencio is celebrated on January 16.
