Infantry Day in Paraguay

On November 16, 1934, date of the transcendental Battle of "EL CARMEN" that reflects the genius, the military courage, the tenacity and the great discipline put in its execution by the glorious soldiers of the 8th Infantry Division, commanded by the then General Eugenio Alejandrino Garay, whose illustrious name gathers the most exalted virtues of the soldier, whose heroic actions impregnated with the most praiseworthy heroism and iron sacrifice were signed in such a memorable and decisive Battle, later in Yrendague on December 8, for which he is justly called Father and Glory of the Paraguayan Infantry.
