Swimmers are fascinating. Not to be biased or anything, but they are. Swimmers have superhuman-like capabilities. They can make their bodies do weird things. Swim a Lap Day celebrates the water sport that is swimming. Swimming is incredibly popular as a competitive sport.
The world’s longest swim was performed by Slovenian Martin Strel in 2007, who swam a total distance of 5,256km along the length of the Amazon River in South America. Swimming burns almost 40% more calories than biking per hour.
The biggest pool in the world is 7 times bigger than a football field and you can find it in Casablanca, Marroco.
