The best way to avoid this happening is to keep your PC clean and well ventilated.
Regular household cleaners may damage a monitor screen, wearing away coatings. Instead, gently wipe your screen with a soft cloth. A microfiber cloth is great for this purpose. You can dampen your cloth with distilled or filtered water to wipe away tougher smudges.
Cleaning your computer's hardware makes the entire system run more smoothly and keep it running longer. Regular cleaning protects not only your investment, but the important data stored on it as well. Every few days or so, give the screen a good wipe and empty the crumbs out of the keyboard.
