Wear Red Day is held on the first Friday of every February and organised in the United Kingdom by Yorkshire based charity Children's Heart Surgery Fund to raise awareness of congenital heart disease. National Wear Red Day officially started off in 2004.
CHDs are the most common birth defects. An approximate 100-200 deaths are due to unrecognized heart disease in newborns each year.
