CARICOM promotes cooperation and economic integration among Caribbean countries. It was founded in 1973 as the Caribbean Community and Common Market. Its original members were Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago. It currently has 15 full members, 5 associate members, and 8 observers.
