Turkmen Racing Horse Festival
Turkmen Racing Horse Festival is held on April 26. Celebrated on the last Sunday in April in Turkmenistan. This event in the third decade of the month April is annual.
Every year horse-mad Turkmenistan starts off the Turkmen Horse Festival with a beauty pageant for the Akhal-Teke horse, the national symbol of the country and according to some, the oldest horse breed in the world. Later in the day horse races takes place which indicates the start of the nation`s favourite season, horse-racing season.
