Physiotherapist and Physiotherapy Day in Mexico
Physiotherapist and Physiotherapy Day in Mexico is held on July 5. This event in the first decade of the month July is annual.
This July 5 is Physiotherapist's Day, a date that has its antecedents and that not only celebrates the discipline but also all its professionals.
According to historical records, the celebration of the physical therapist has its origin in Mexico in 1942 when the Spanish Hospital started the first physical therapy program in the country. This was especially important when between 1950 and 1951 an epidemic of poliomyelitis was treated.
But the chosen date of July 5th was chosen after the Mexican Association of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (AMTFR) was founded in 1955. It later changed its name to the Mexican Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
