Student Day of Venezuela

Student Day of Venezuela is held on November 21. Día del Estudiante. This event in the third decade of the month November is annual.
On November 21, 1957, Caracas university students in their struggle against the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez and as a protest against the announced plebiscite that would reelect him as president of the Republic, went on strike that day. The university strike was preceded by the one promoted by students from the Fermín Toro, Application, Juan Vicente González, Andrés Bello, Razetti, Caracas and Miguel Antonio Caro schools.
It should be noted that on November 21, as the organizers had planned, the strike broke out at the Central University, from where it spread to other universities.
At the Andrés Bello Catholic University, students burned the Electoral Law, which was fraudulent, a copy of the newspaper "El Heraldo" and a portrait of Pérez Jiménez. The student strike produced a series of communiqués that were distributed in leaflets. Despite the fact that the National Security took the Central University of Venezuela, arrested numerous students and closed the Higher Education centers, it was so successful that it was one of the triggers that concluded with the flight of the dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez on January 28, 1958. Since then, November 21 is celebrated as Student's Day, according to Decree published in Official Gazette No. 25,818 of Friday, November 21, 1958.
