World No Alcohol Day

World No Alcohol Day is held on October 2. This event in the first decade of the month October is annual.
In 2008, India proposed a World No Alcohol Day during the World Health Assembly in Geneva. They chose the date of October 2nd as it marked the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who was born in 1869. Gandhi was a social activist who led the Temperance Movement in India.
