St Vincent & The Grenadines is home to the oldest Botanical Gardens in the Western Hemisphere and was founded in 1765. The King’s Hill Reserve is one of the oldest forest reserves in the Western Hemisphere. Established in 1791 and with an elevation of 600 feet, it provides a habitat for protected wildlife and a home for more than 26 identified species of tropical trees and shrubs.
The Buccament Valley east of Layou is a tropical rainforest reserve, home to the endangered St Vincent parrot, as well as many other species such as the unique whistling warbler. Bequia’s rich marine flora and fauna make it a popular resort for divers.
Fried Jackfish and Roasted Breadfruit is the National Dish of the country, both are equally delicious. Indian food such as curry, roti, rice and daal are a commonly consumed as part of Vincentian cuisine.
Saint Vincent is one of the cheaper Caribbean islands.
