Resistance Day (Estonian: Vastupanuvõitluse päev), also known as Otto Tief Government Day (Otto Tiefi valitsuse päev) is an Estonian public holiday celebrated every September 22 in honor of Commander Otto Tief, who attempted to restore the country's independence in 1944.
On that day the victims who were subjugated again under the Soviet regime after the fall of Nazism in Estonia are remembered and commemorated. From that year until 1950, aggressive Sovietization continued in Estonia.
