Women's Day in Myanmar

Women's Day in Myanmar is held on July 3. This event in the first decade of the month July is annual.
The first celebration of Myanmar Women's Day was held on 3 July 1988. On July 3, 1996, the Myanmar National Committee was established to carry out activities for the advancement of women, and the day was officially proclaimed as Myanmar Women's Day.
In August 1997, the National Committee for Women's Affairs adopted the Myanmar National Action Plan for the advancement of women. Six areas -- education, health, economy, culture, violence against women and girl child have been identified as critical areas that are considered to be most relevant for the advancement of women of Myanmar.
The National Committee enhances the cooperation between the Government and Non Governmental Organizations in implementing the National Plan of Action.
