Tree Day is celebrated in Costa Rica on June 15. It is a date to make people aware of the need to protect wooded areas. A day dedicated to planting trees in different places, to stop the effects of climate change and indiscriminate logging.
This event was established by President Alfredo González through Executive Decree No. 14 of May 25, 1915. Thanks to the vision of figures such as Mr. Alfredo González, our society has stood out for having an outstanding environmental performance, in relation to others countries of the world.
