Prince Henrik, husband of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Fredensborg Palace at the age of 83. The French-born prince had quite a controversial life that many Danes never accepted. Prince Henrik's native language was French, and his second language was Danish. He also spoke fluent English, German, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Although he quickly learned Danish after marrying Margrethe, Danes joked about his grasp of Danish and his thick French accent.
