The Three Kings Cavalcade is a typical parade of floats in the cities of Spain and Andorra, in Gibraltar and, with less echo, in Czech, Polish, Mexican towns, in Puerto Rico and in the Portuguese town of Monção, in which the Three Kings (Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar) and their pages and helpers throw candies and sweets to the children on the eve of the feast of Epiphany.
The first documented trace of the origin of the Three Kings Day parade dates back to 1866 in Alcoy (Alicante).
The parades are held since January 5 in the afternoon or at dusk, following the tradition, before the Three Wise Men leave the gifts in the houses during the night.
