The International Day for the Dignity of Child and Adolescent Workers originated on December 9, 1996, at an international meeting held in the city of Kudapur, India. This celebration is a very significant event whose main purpose is to make the world population aware of the importance of recognizing, valuing and protecting the rights of working children and adolescents throughout the world.
The celebration of this date seeks the creation and implementation of actions to ensure the safety, stability and improvement of the living conditions of children and adolescents, thus minimizing the risks, exploitation and abuse to which they may be subjected in conditions of vulnerability.
