Venezuela has been celebrating since 2007 the Day of Dignity to Motorcyclists, a date that seeks to highlight people who drive motorcycles.
The celebration was proposed by the Venezuelan Confederation of Motorcyclists (CVM) and the Motorized Integration Organization (OIM), organizations that were at the forefront of educational and awareness campaigns to promote good behavior and respect for the laws by motorcyclists.
In addition, two-wheeler riders seek to remove the stigma attached to their motoring preferences, which some people associate with crime, reinforcing the image of hard-working motorcyclists.
In turn, every October 17, the death of the leader Franco Arquímedes, considered a social fighter who represented the motorcyclists' guild, is commemorated.
