Today, the Day of the Heroic Guerrilla is celebrated throughout Latin America to commemorate that October 8, 1967 when Ernesto Che Guevara was wounded in combat during a fierce struggle with Bolivian soldiers. The following day, the Bolivian Armed Forces, on orders of the Central Intelligence Agency, shot him in Bolivia.
