Bolivia has almost 48% of its surface area covered by forests, mostly with tropical characteristics. It is one of the pioneers in promoting forest conservation through certification. But the average forestation is 300,000 hectares of forest each year, a reality that needs to be reflected upon.
The National Tree Day is celebrated in Bolivia on October 1 as an initiative to awaken the responsibility to conserve them as an invaluable natural resource.
This initiative arises from institutions related to nature in an effort to disseminate the importance of trees for the country, which has two million hectares of tropical forests. According to the Bolfor II Project, Bolivia achieved to be the first in the list of certified countries in the world. This achievement was celebrated in a big way, so that more companies can join the sustainable management of forests as part of a responsible attitude.
There are numerous environmental organizations that promote an awareness of protection and conservation of these ecosystems (forests and trees) through an adequate use of existing natural resources. It is essential to implement measures and policies that contribute to curbing the effects of climate change and indiscriminate logging.
