The National Day for the Fight Against Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa, created by law on June 26, 2013, is celebrated in Uruguay every year on August 26. On this day, information about these eating disorders (ED) is distributed and various activities are organized in different parts of the country.
The universal symbol of the fight against eating disorders, is the blue ribbon,this symbol is used both for August 26, as well as for the International Day to Combat Eating Disorders (which is celebrated every November 30), as well as all celebrations that have to do with the fight against ED.
