International Armadillo Day

The armadillo is a rare species of megafauna that has not only long eluded scientific study, but has also avoided basic human attention. They have amazing engineering to make their burrow so that the temperature of the burrow is always constant and can provide shelter for several animals plus we all know that their armored body allows for their protection. They also have a great importance in the environment since they are able to create vital habitats for several species.

This animal species is at risk of disappearing from the planet because its population has decreased significantly, especially in countries such as Brazil and some regions of South America. The main objective of this day is to raise awareness of the value of an animal species with very particular features and physical characteristics, as well as the importance of caring for and protecting it in order to prevent its extinction.

It is known that since the 1990s the species has been facing a problem of decline in the number of individuals. But in the last 25 years, the problem has worsened alarmingly.
