Tradition has it that St. Onofre, patron saint of the Quart de Poblet, heard the pleas of his people and put an end to the drought on the night of June 9, 1723. The crops were saved and the people staged a procession in honor of the saint, accompanied by fire, music and joy.
Since then and to this day, the legend has not been interrupted and the walk has become an event of tourist interest, La Passejà (the walk in Catalan). It is a unique festival in the Valencian municipality that is visited by a large number of people.
