The National Commission for Apprenticeship and Vocational Guidance (Comisión Nacional de Aprendizaje y Orientación Profesional) was created on June 3, 1944 to regulate the training of factory workers (Día del Aprendiz y de la Formación Profesional).
Today, the National Institute of Technological Education (Instituto Nacional de Educación Tecnológica) is the body of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology in charge of coordinating the application of public policies related to Vocational Training and the other levels of Technical Vocational Education (Secondary Technical and Higher Technical), in a concerted and concurrent manner with the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Vocational Training makes it possible to make social, professional and personal promotion compatible with the productivity of the national, regional and local economy. It also provides for specialization and the updating of knowledge and skills acquired on the job.
