The Argentine Customs is one of the oldest institutions in country, its beginnings date back to the times of the conquest and colonization by Spain. As an entity that collects and provides economic resources, it has had an active influence and participation in the historical events of country.
On June 1 is celebrated in country the "Day of Customs and Customs Workers". On that day, but in 1586, the ship "Nuestra Señora del Rosario", coming from Santos (Brazil), anchored in the port of Buenos Aires and made the first entry of goods into the country of which there is official record.
The General Customs Directorate (DGA) is a body currently under the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) and is the competent authority in the application of the legislation that regulates customs clearance, as well as the systems, methods and procedures to which customs must adhere.
