The Battle of Santa Rosa was a military confrontation that occurred on March 20, 1856 at Hacienda Santa Rosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, as part of the National Campaign of 1856-1857, and resulted in the expulsion of the filibuster army commanded by William Walker from Costa Rican territory.
She is commemorated every March 20 throughout the country. This victory was possible thanks to the fact that the nationals surprised the filibusters who were strategically hidden in the large house located in the Santa Rosa hacienda. The confrontation lasted only 18 minutes.
