The World Handicrafts Council was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). June 10 marks the World Handicrafts Day and celebrates the skill of artists and the glamour of handicrafts produced with time-consuming processes all around the world.
The celebration of the World’s Handicrafts Day, June 10th, should be used to reflect on the founding principles of the World’s Craft Council which is mainly to foster economic development of crafts through crafts- related activities in all its regions.
Handmade items are also commonly known as handicraft, artistry, and arts and crafts. Handicrafts are very important. They represent people's culture and traditions. It promotes the heritage of a country through the use of indigenous materials. It preserves traditional knowledge and talents and are gifted every day.
