A general Order was signed on January 20, 2022, in which the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine established January 20 as the Day of Honoring the Defenders of Donetsk Airport.
In particular, it states that in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine this day will be celebrated annually on January 20 for the purpose of military-patriotic education, honoring the feat of military personnel and volunteers who defended the DAP from the Russian aggressor, as well as to continue the best military traditions.
On this Day, a number of events are planned, in particular, events to honor the memory of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who defended the Donetsk airport, in the memorial complex on the territory of the Ministry of Defense, where the Hall of Memory of the Defenders of Ukraine and the Memorial Bell are located.
