Secretary Day in Argentina
Secretary Day in Argentina is held on September 4. Día de la Secretaria. This event in the first decade of the month September is annual. Help us
The first story about this day tells that, during the second stage of the Industrial Revolution, in the 19th century, Christopher Scholes invented the typewriter. With it, typing, a discipline dedicated to the use of this machine, and typists, who specialized in mechanical writing, were born. Today, typing on a keyboard is a natural habit for us, but back then, no one was born with a keyboard nearby. So it was something that required teaching, practice and apprenticeship.
In any case, each country designated a particular day to pay tribute to those who have this profession. In the case of Argentina and Uruguay, September 4 was established.
The important thing to highlight is that, nowadays, it is a task performed by people regardless of their gender. Although, at the beginning, it was mainly a female profession, nowadays it is normal to find male secretaries as well. The reality is that professions have no gender, so happy day to all of you!
