July 30th is "Dream Theater Day" in the state of Utah. A proclamation made by former governor/US Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman.
Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
Various names were considered (“Glasser” was the band's official name for about a week), but the honour of being the person that suggested “Dream Theater” goes to Mike Portnoy's father, Howard Portnoy. He suggested the name based on the (now-demolished) theater in Monterrey, California. The name stuck.
Dream Theater is well known for high-energy concert performances. While they've released several 21st century live albums -- Live at the Marquee, Live in Japan, and Live Scenes from New York -- they remain one of the genre's most bootlegged bands.
