14 July - Nachi Fire Festival in Japan
Nachi Fire Festival is one of the three largest fire festivals in Japan. It is the annual returning to the waterfall of Hiro – jinja Shrine from Kumano Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine. It is a Shinto ritual in which participants carry large flaming torches down the path from the shrine to a sacred waterfall. The path is used to lead the shrine's 12 deities down to the waterfall, and the ritual is carried out to purify the route.
This is a festival known as “Fire Festival of Nachi”, which was designated as an important intangible folk cultural property of the country in 2005.
The Kii Peninsula is full of place to see: the tuna market of Katsuura, and hot springs. These attractions earned the peninsula the 5th spot worldwide in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2018.

In any case, its a nice way of reminding people of the existence of letters);
