In North Macedonia, the official names of the holiday are the Day of the All-Slavic Enlighteners and Teachers or the Day of the Holy Thessalonica Brothers Cyril and Methodius.
In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Day of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius (the holiday of Slavic writing) is celebrated on July 5 - the day they came to Moravia. Churches hold solemn services. This is the only state-church holiday in these countries.
