The Feast of San Marco celebrates the patron saint of the city with a procession of religious and civil authorities in Piazza San Marco. Venice is one of those places that you simply have to see to believe. The city is truly one of the most unique places on Earth–but spending one day in Venice is definitely also an exercise in organization. Venice is full of beautiful and empty nooks and crannies, and if all you want from your visit is some canals and quiet time, Cannaregio, Dorsoduro, and Castello are the neighborhoods for you. The city of Venice is actually made up of a number of different islands, each with different characters and landmarks.
