She was born in the Barbadian parish of Saint Michael, and on the country's 55th Independence Day, she was awarded the nation's highest honor. In 2008, former prime minister David Thompson declared 22 February "Rihanna Day" - and although it is not a bank holiday, Barbadians celebrate it every year. If you're a fan of Rihanna, you probably know that she regularly attends the annual Crop Over festival in Bridgetown, Barbados.
In 2013, Rihanna bought the beachfront property in her home country, Barbados. The condo spreads on a sprawling area of 10,000 square feet and is a part of One Sandy Lane, a luxury resort in Paynes Bay.
