Epiphany, also Three Lords' Day or Three Kings' Day.
Some Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate this day on 19 January.
Tradition has it that on this day the Three Wise Men of the East followed a star to Bethlehem to see the newborn King of the Jews, Jesus Christ. This event is described in Matthew 2.
Epiphany is special because it is interspersed with a number of beliefs that foretell the year ahead. If the sun does not shine on Epiphany, it will be a rainy summer. If the mistress is angry on Epiphany, the pigs will have few piglets.
