22 March - International Goof Off Day
The history of International Goof Off Day states that Monica (Moeller) Dufour of Davidson, Michigan, USA, first founded National Goof Off Day. Certainly, a lot can be said about the importance of hard work and dedication to remaining productive. That being said, this day is just the opposite! Winnie the Pooh said it best when he said, “doing nothing leads to the very best something”.
This is the day to forget the expectations of yourself and others and just have fun for a change. Your work and other tasks can wait until tomorrow.
According to official records, the first celebration took place in 1976. In an interview with the Detroit Free Press in 1983, Moeller suggests the first event may have been a few years later. Whenever the inaugural day took place, it was no surprise National Goof Off Day was created by a kid who likes to do things out of the ordinary.
